Welcome to the July edition of the Progressive Connexions Interdisciplinary Life newsletter.
Three of our online conferences are currently open for abstract submissions!
- Nostalgia (due July 11) — submit to firstname.lastname@example.org and email@example.com
- Bad Taste (due July 16) — submit to firstname.lastname@example.org and email@example.com
- (In)Convenient Histories (due July 21) — submit to firstname.lastname@example.org and email@example.com
The deadlines are coming up quickly, so if you have an idea, don’t hesitate! You can always reach out to the event leader if you have questions or aren’t sure if your idea would fit.
In addition, submissions recently closed for The Stories Bodies Tell, a new event in our “Narratives, Persons, Communities” hub. “The Stories Bodies Tell” will run online on the 24th-25th of July.
In Our Network…
We are delighted to welcome two new faces to the publishing-and-publishing-adjacent arm of Progressive Connexions activities! Clément Labi has taken on the position of Director of Outputs and Outcomes, and will be overseeing the entire range of ways that we share our work with the world. Polina Ignatova has stepped up for the role of Director of ePublishing, and will be taking the reins on projects related to e-journals, blogs, podcasts, and other digital forms of sharing scholarship. Welcome, Polina and Clément!
We also welcome Freja Gyldenstrøm and Daria Romanova to our online conference production team! If you are coming to an online conference, or have been to one with us, Freja and Daria will be helping to make sure that you have a safe, smooth online conferencing experience. This is an area where we are still seeking volunteers, so if you want to get involved with Progressive Connexions by helping organize some of the basic elements of online conferences, contact our Director of Programmes Elif at firstname.lastname@example.org!
We want YOU!
Have you done something exciting with a project you brought to a Progressive Connexions conference? Brought it to another conference? Expanded it into a publication, lecture, or new project? Want to have it featured in the newsletter? Email email@example.com so she can share it with our network!
